MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH

There are many paths leading to a career in public health. The Public Health program is dedicated to preparing students to become competent public health practitioners and administrators. The University of Southern Mississippi’s MPH is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and can give you advanced knowledge in health care management, health education, epidemiology and biostatistics, so you can take your career to the next level. Our MPH is offered in three different formats – fully online, executive format, and traditional – so you can choose which option is best for your schedule. Learn below which degree format option would be right for you!

CHOOSE THE PATH THAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU:

Fully Online

With this degree format, health care professionals can pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Health 100% online. The program is designed to help you achieve your career goals while never stepping foot on campus. Public Health students are able to communicate directly with instructors to better understand the context of the information and share their experiences with other professionals through online platforms.

Executive Format

The Executive Master of Public Health is now available only at Southern Miss. This program provides an opportunity for students with at least three years experience in the medical field to advance their skills and knowledge while networking with other experienced health care professionals. The executive format program meets only one weekend each month, giving students the freedom of an online class while offering the opportunity to meet other professions in the medical field.

Traditional

The traditional classroom gives students the face-to-face instruction that reinforces the work within the field. In the classroom, Public Health students are able to communicate directly with instructors to better understand the context of the information and share their experiences with other professionals. Students can complete the traditional Master of Public Health in epidemiology and biostatistics, or health education while continuing their careers.
