The early bird gets the worm. That’s a phrase we hear often about a variety of things! But when it comes to early enrollment for your college classes, it couldn’t be more true. The early bird (or Golden Eagle in our case) gets their choice of classes.
What is early enrollment?
Early enrollment is for current students to register for their classes for the upcoming semester in advance. This typically happens in March for the summer and fall semesters, and in October for the spring semester.
Your advisor should send you an email when early enrollment is available for you. You’ll need to schedule a meeting with your advisor before you can enroll in the next semester’s classes. Departments are very busy during the advisement periods, so scheduling an appointment with you advisor as soon as possible is in your best interest!
During this meeting with your advisor, you should be discussing which classes you should be taking next semester and how to stay on track for graduating without any hiccups. Use this meeting to your advantage! Your advisor is here to help you and wants to hear feedback from you and how your semester is going so far.
After you’ve met with your advisor, it’s time to choose and register for your classes!
Registering for your classes as early as possible gives you the best opportunity to get the classes that best fit your schedule! The earlier you enroll, the more classes will be open – meaning they haven’t met their max capacity of students. The more open classes there are, the more of a choice you have of which class you’d like to take, which is helpful for staying on track for graduating as quickly as possible!
This makes for a class schedule that is catered 100% to your life!
