An online student needs many things to be successful. That is why the Office of Online Learning has gone to great lengths to choose the best for you. Canvas, the Learning Management System we use, has been recognized by publications like EdTech Digest and won numerous awards recognizing its student-centered design and numerous security features.

Our history includes making your online degree accessible to you, on your time. Through offering both asynchronous and synchronous classes, and exam proctoring options which allow you to schedule your tests at times that suit your schedule, we continue to go the extra mile for you.

At Southern Miss, our leaders in online learning understand online students. We want you to be able to choose the right major for you. So, we have increased your degree choices and are constantly adding new programs to our fully online degree choices.

The Office of Online Learning at Southern Miss has evolved with the times. Throughout the years our name has been the Learning Enhancement Center, the Teaching and Learning Resource Center, and even the Office of Continuing Education, but we have always done everything with one goal, making our students successful.
