How To Make Finals Spark Joy

| | 1 minute read

Everyone is reorganizing their lives to spark joy. They’re getting rid of old clothes, books, and weird kitchen trinkets that they realized they never used anyways. They’re streamlining their life to only include what is useful everyday; what sparks happiness.

Can you make finals week spark joy?

Yes! And we’re here to help you find that joy in the midst of finals.

  1. Find a quiet, relaxing place to study. Studying at home might be the easiest thing you can do, but most of the time it’s the most distracting place. Your mind might wander to all the other household chores you need to do or the latest movie Netlix has to offer. By going to your local library or quiet coffee shop, you might get more work done than ever before! Having a quiet, distraction free space is sure to bring you joy.
  2. Organize your notes. The notes we take in class can sometimes be a little all over the place. Taking the time to organize your notes before you start studying can help the entire process smooth! Pro Tip: Use this time to re-handwrite your notes. This might seem like a waste of time, but handwriting your notes actually helps you learn the material. So, not only will you be organizing, you’ll be learning as well!
  3. Try active reading. This step is a game-changer for studying! In short, active reading helps you learn how to read a textbook or assigned course materials actively instead of how your read a story. Which can help cut down your overall study time! Who wouldn’t want that?

Following these simple steps can help you feel prepared for finals week. The more prepared you feel for a test, you’re less likely to feel stressed! We hope you try these out, and we hope they bring you joy!

Good luck!
