Explore your passion for research and data with a fully online research PhD from The University of Southern Mississippi. This online PhD emphasizes Research, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment (RESA), allowing students to become scholarly research and data analysis experts. Our program prepares students for academic and non-academic high-demand positions such as assessment in higher education, program evaluators, grant coordinators, policy analysts, and more.

During this PhD program, students rotate through a series of practicum courses. These courses allow students to develop professionally and gain applied experience in teaching and research project design, implementation, and analysis.

Applicants are not required to have a master’s degree to be eligible for admission to the program. However, students enrolled in this program may earn an Education (Educational Studies and Research) MS en route to completing the PhD.
